DETROIT, MI – The Detroit-based political organization, Original Eastside Slate endorsed Haley Stevens for U.S. Senate, backing her as the candidate with the record, toughness, and proven results to deliver for working families across Michigan. Since the 1970s, the Original Eastside Slate has taken on everyday issues to improve the quality of life for residents across Detroit.
The Original Eastside Slate is a group of community leaders and organizers who engage in voter mobilization to support their endorsed candidates and fight for progress. In 2022, they helped elect Gretchen Whitmer, Jocelyn Benson, and Dana Nessel, and last year helped elect Mary Sheffield, the first female Mayor of Detroit.
In their endorsement, they highlighted Haley’s leadership helping save 200,000 Michigan jobs serving as Chief of Staff for President Obama’s Auto Rescue and her relentless fight in Congress to protect Michigan manufacturing, lower costs, and stand up for workers.

She has been endorsed by former U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow and community leader Colleen Ochoa Peters, in addition to former Rep. Brenda Lawrence and a slate of Congressional Black Caucus Members.
