Operating Engineers 324 is Haley’s eleventh union endorsement, more than double her closest opponent

DETROIT, MI – Today, Operating Engineers 324, representing more than 16,000 members throughout Michigan, announced their endorsement of Congresswoman Haley Stevens for U.S. Senate. In their endorsement, Operating Engineers 324 Political Director William Miller praised Haley’s proven track record of accomplishments that build Michigan’s economy. This marks Haley’s eleventh union endorsement, the most of any MI Senate candidate and more than double her closest opponent. 


“For over 100 years, Operating Engineers 324 has played a central role in building, operating and maintaining Michigan’s industrial infrastructure,”
said William Miller, Political Director for Operating Engineers 324. “Haley Stevens has a proven track record of putting Michigan workers first, protecting Michigan manufacturing, and standing up to the status quo to fight for Michigan. She’s delivered on policies that grow Michigan’s economy.”

Haley continues to build the infrastructure to win statewide in Michigan and gain momentum. She leads the Senate race in union endorsements by a wide margin, holding twice as many as her nearest competitor. She is the first candidate to secure union support in the double digits. So far, Haley has been endorsed by the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Workers Local 292, Boilermakers Local 169, Sheet Metal Workers Local 80, Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 2, Plumbers Local 98, IronWorkers Local 25, Teamsters Local 243, UNITE HERE Local 24, Pipefitters, Steamfitters, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Service Local Union 636, Michigan Machinists Council, former state House Speaker Joe Tate, Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, the Mayors of Lansing and Grand Rapids, 11 mayors across Metro Detroit, 40 clergy members across Michigan, the Michigan Democratic Party Black Caucus, Reps.
