“Haley Stevens has been a consistent and effective champion for Michigan’s working people”

DETROIT, MI – Today, Michigan Teamsters Local 299 proudly endorsed Haley Stevens for U.S. Senate. In their endorsement, they highlighted Haley’s consistent and effective efforts on behalf of Michigan’s working people.

“Haley Stevens has been a consistent and effective champion for Michigan’s working people. She is a strong supporter of the PRO Act, a defender of collective bargaining rights, and a leader on the Union Auto Workers Job Protection Act, ensuring that the transition in the auto industry protects union jobs,” said Kevin D. Moore, President of Michigan Teamsters Local 299. “Congresswoman Stevens has also been a vocal supporter of Corewell Health Nurses in their fight for safe staffing and fair treatment. Her support for the Butch Lewis Act helped secure the pensions of millions of union retirees, including many here in Michigan. Haley Stevens has proven time and again that she stands with labor. Teamsters Local 299 is proud to stand with her in her campaign for the United States Senate.”

“Working with the Teamsters to protect Michigan workers’ retirement pensions from Wall Street greed has been one of my proudest accomplishments throughout my time in Congress, and those efforts would not have been possible without help from my friends at Michigan Teamsters Local 299,” said Haley. “The hardworking men and women of Local 299 represent the backbone of our state, and I’ll continue standing with them to create better-paying jobs, defend workers’ rights, and build a stronger future for working families.”
