HALEY’S HEADLINE HOT STREAK: Stevens Racks Up “Major” Endorsement, Commands a Lead in Primary Polling

7/15/2026

DETROIT, MI – Haley Stevens continues to build momentum heading into the final stretch, earning wall-to-wall coverage across Michigan following Senator Gary Peters’ “major” endorsement and a new poll from the Detroit News/WDIV that shows her “[open[ing] a lead over El-Sayed](https://www.crainsdetroit.com/politics-policy/cdb-michigan-us-senate-democratic-poll-20260714/)” – cementing her status as the strongest Democrat to hold Michigan’s Senate seat and beat Mike Rogers in November.

Peters praised Haley as a “workhorse” who “will be ready on day one to fight for Michigan,” and a “proven candidate who’s been able to win tough elections, able to get support from a broad cross section of voters.” Meanwhile, the new Detroit News/WDIV poll shows her “with a 20 point lead on standing up to Trump and a 17 point leaders with voters who say ‘they need to beat Mike Rogers’” – “the top two factors” voters listed in making their decision.

All the while, Haley has been busy campaigning across the state – meeting with Michiganders in Lansing, West Michigan, and across Metro Detroit with just under three weeks left until primary day – emphasizing her fight for Michigan’s small businesses, manufacturers, and families and highlighting why she is the strongest candidate to defeat Mike Rogers in November.
