Haley Stevens Launches Campaign For U.S. Senate to Fight Trump's Chaos and Always Stand Up for Michigan
DETROIT, MI – Today, Haley Stevens launched her campaign for U.S. Senate to fight the chaos and uncertainty of the Trump Administration and always stand up for Michigan.
Born and raised in Michigan, Haley began her public service by fighting for Michigan’s manufacturing industry and jobs. During the Great Recession, she served as Chief of Staff to President Obama’s auto rescue, playing a critical role in stabilizing the auto industry and saving 200,000 Michigan jobs. After she flipped a Republican-held seat in 2018, Haley has fought in the halls of Congress to grow Michigans’ manufacturing economy, bring down costs, and helped write the law to bring America’s semiconductor industry back to where it belongs: Michigan. And as Donald Trump and Elon Musk attack the services Michiganders need, Haley is fighting to protect Michiganders and introduced legislation to ensure Musk cannot access Michiganders’ private financial data.
As Michigan’s next Senator, Haley will work to bring down costs for Michigan families, continue to boost Michigan’s manufacturing and auto industries, and stand up to the Trump-Musk chaos agenda.

Haley Stevens: “I remember being handed the keys to my first car. I’m Haley Stevens and I bet you do too. That used Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, it meant more to me than just freedom. It meant I had a piece of Michigan. You know, the Michigan that helped build this country. The Michigan that shaped me. It’s not just what I sound like, it’s who I am.”
Haley Stevens: “My dad was a teacher and my mom ran a small business. Growing up in Michigan meant being surrounded by innovation, ingenuity, and pride in hard work. And from our farmers to our nurses to our manufacturers, Michigan has the best workers in the world.”
Haley Stevens: “I always knew I wanted to spend my life fighting for Michigan. And when the Great Recession hit and the American car industry faced extinction, I wanted to step up and do something for my state. As Chief of Staff to President Obama’s Auto Rescue, we helped save over 200,000 Michigan jobs and stabilized our economy.”
ABC News Reporter: “The U.S. auto industry turnaround is undeniable.”
President Barack Obama: “And Haley Stevens, by the way, she was there. She was a critical part of my team that helped the American auto industry come roaring back.”
Haley Stevens: “But Donald Trump has a much different plan for Michigan. His chaos and reckless tariffs are putting tens of thousands of Michigan jobs at risk. Donald Trump says he ‘couldn’t care less’ if auto prices rise. Well, as someone who spent my time in Congress fighting for Michigan jobs, Michigan families, and Michigan workers, I couldn’t care more.”
Haley Stevens: “Across the state, I know we’re all feeling the hit of higher prices. The same groceries cost more each month. Housing is more expensive than ever. But all we’re getting is more chaos. What the heck are they doing?
Haley Stevens: “I’m Haley Stevens and I’m running for Senate because just like that day I got these keys to that old Cutlass, we have the power to chart our own path. I’m proud of Michigan and I’ll never get tired of saying it. It would be my honor to fight for you in the Senate.”
