“During my eight years as governor, we’ve faced tough challenges. But my north star has always been to get stuff done for Michigan. I know that’s Haley Stevens’ guiding light too, which is why I am so proud to endorse her for U.S. Senate,” said Governor Gretchen Whitmer. “With the great Gary Peters stepping down, Michigan needs an effective fighter to step up and deliver for our state in the U.S. Senate. That’s Haley Stevens. From serving as Chief of Staff on President Obama’s auto rescue, to being named the most effective Michigan Democrat in Congress, Haley knows how to get things done for Michigan. She’ll be ready to deliver on day one on manufacturing, lowering costs, and protecting our health care and Social Security. I’m thrilled to be endorsing her for U.S. Senate.”
“Governor Whitmer has been a role model for so many Michiganders, myself included. She’s led our state through some of our hardest challenges – always delivering for our manufacturing economy, our auto industry, and our workers,” said Haley Stevens. “Governor Whitmer embodies what it means to be ‘that woman from Michigan’ and everything that makes our state so special. She’s authentically Michigan – and I could not be more honored to have her endorsement for U.S. Senate. Let’s go win!”
Haley and Governor Whitmer have been proud to partner on major wins for Michigan:
- Haley was proud to bring “unprecedented federal resources” to Michigan and partnered with Governor Whitmer on implementing commonsense gun violence protection measures to make Michigan a safer place to live.
- Governor Whitmer and Haley teamed up to get the CHIPs and Science Act passed into law to bring major investments home for Michigan manufacturing, create jobs, take on China, help Michigan’s auto industry, and lower costs.
- Both Haley and Governor Whitmer worked to stand up to Big Pharma–and won for Michigan–lowering the cost of prescription drugs and health care for Michiganders.
Haley has also been endorsed by Michigan Senator Gary Peters, former Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow, former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, former Michigan Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence, Congressman Jim Clyburn, and 19 Michigan unions.
